As of 2026, you are required to reserve and pay your parking in advance of your trip.
There are warning signs that bears, moose, and coyotes are present in the area, like most of the Cape Breton Highlands hikes.
As with all Canadian National Parks, there may be a fee for your visit. We visited while the Canada Strong Pass was in effect, which is why it was free.
This trail is relatively flat until you hit the Skyline Headland Restricted Area, which is a boardwalk with steps that lead down to one of the most beautiful views we have ever seen. In 2025, when we hiked, parking was on a first-come, first-served basis, so we did not have to reserve or pay a fee.

The restaurant overlooks the famous Cabot Links Golf Course and the ocean and has some of the most stunning sunset views. The food was insanely delicious, and we would definitely recommend the lobster fettuccine.
